In August of 1985, we purchased a building in Winkler and opened a new appliance store there. We run our service department out of the Altona store and have three factory- trained service personnel to serve our customers in an approximate 80 to 100 kilometre radius.
In April of 1996, we purchased the former 4 Seasons Furniture building and renovated the store by adding a full mezzanine floor. It now has a large selection of furniture and bedding sold to customers in Southern Manitoba, North Dakota & Minnesota.
Three brothers -- Pete, Bill & Dave -- presently own the three stores and now have family members from the fourth generation working for the business. We look forward to serving our communities and loyal customers for many more years.
Our grandfather bought the Halbstadt store in 1919 and our family began selling appliances in 1950. Grandpa owned the store until 1957 when he sold it to his three sons: Henry, Charlie and Dave. In 1978 we bought a building on Main Street in Altona and opened our first appliances-only store. We sold and serviced appliances there until we built a new shop at our present location in 1982.
